AN66 UTOPIA (Anchor) "Notice to Cabin Passengers" Announces the sailing to NY on 3rd Oct (1874). Advises that passengers will take the train from Dunlop Station to Greencock, where a tender will wait to bring them aboard. Card measures 3x4.5". Also has original envelope with "Henderson Brothers Glasgow" Embossed on the back and the passenger name "Rev. Mr. Collins" written on it. The year is not printed on, but it arrived with other memorabilia from this same liner for the Oct 3 1874 sailing. This liner sailed from 1874 until 1891 where she sank, in 5 minutes, in the Bay of Gibraltar with the loss of 563 lives. The card is in excellent condition. $50.00

Booklet is complete, despite the unusual number of pages. 5 exterior views (2 in color), 7 photos of the various building stages and launching, 2 partial exterior photos. 10 elegant photos and images of interior rooms. Text, statistics, captions. A longitudinal secion Cut Away diagram opens from the centerspread to 16" long. There is also a Transverse section Cut Away (width of ship). A foreward explains "This brochure, prepared before the Lusitania was completed, and while she was thronged with workman, does not pretend to convey anything like an adequate idea of the magnificence and luxury of this vessel..." At one time it appears someone left a glass on the cover, and water caused some of the red color of the covers to bleed to the title page, and following foreward page. A sticker on the cover from the Cunard Philadelphia office. Inscribed inside with owners name and a date in 1918, but the booklet itself was issued c1907. Extremely RARE! $2,500.00

(Note: The "Scotia" was the last of Cuanrd's Paddle-Wheel steamships. She was also the most powerful of all of the paddle-wheelers.) There are two fold out track charts: For Atlantic Routes and for Mediterranean Routes. There is a complete fleet listing of Cunard ships with very obscure old ships: Java, Marathon, Olympus, Saragossa, Kedar, Buffalo, Raven, Bear, Alpha, among many others. (For example the MALTA was on the Mediterranean & Havre service, was built in 1865 and was 2132 tons and carried 40 cabin passengers, and 558 in steerage. ) Various texts including a Company History and a text "Transatlantic Trips". HARD260 AMERIKA (Hamburg American) Souvenir metal memo book. 2 x 2.75". A wonderful starboard bow likeness of the ship is embossed on the cover. The back cover has the HAPAG Line flag as well as wording "Souvenir of My Ocean Trip". When the mechanical pencil is removed, the cover springs up to reveal a booklet of blank memo paper. None of the paper was ever used. Very nice condition. There is some tarnish on the outside- possibly silver plate. The inside workings of the pencil is missing. These were made c1905 and are highly desired souvenirs of the early German ships. $250.00
